Muskego Council Approves Ambulance Fee Hike

Alderman Harenda had voted no at Public Safety and cited a lack of documentation to justify increase, but votes with council to provide a unanimous decision.

Despite a return of the issue to the Public Safety Committee (PSC) to review the issue, Alderman Kert Harenda told the Common Council Tuesday night that the information he got was still lacking in enough detail to justify a rate 12 percent increase in ambulance service fees.

"They provided some information on gas costs and medical supplies from Tess Corners, but for what they're requesting, I just wanted to see more data to back it up," he said. Harenda clarified his position by saying that he was not against the increase, but just wanted to make sure documentation would be available.

Alderman Keith Werner said that he would hope that the fee increase would also be followed up by monitoring of costs, and Alderman Dan Soltysiak said he would also hope the PSC could work with Tess Corners to help control costs so fee increases would not be requested again in another year's time.
