Muskego DECA Teams Compete at State Conference
Senior places in top 10 percent in competition that serves to educate students in marketing, hospitality and finance.

(Editor's note: We are passing along good news from DECA advisor Katie Cortez at Muskego High School on the results of state competition this week. I was privileged to serve as a judge of sorts at the high school to hear presentations, and was impressed at the detail and impact of the students' projects. DECA and FBLA conducted a fundraiser last year with Toys for Tots, the Muskego Food Pantry and the Waukesha County Christmas Clearing Council.)
Muskego High School’s DECA members competed at the State Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva on March 13 – 15.
Competitors included freshmen Noah Jansen and Justin Jezuit, junior Simeon Thiele, and senior Kim Krahling. Students competed in two written tests and one to two role plays in the areas of marketing, business service management, and hotel and lodging marketing.

Kim Krahling won a medal for placing in the top 10 percent of her role play competition. In addition, Muskego’s DECA chapter won the Acts of Kindness and MDA contribution awards for their service. Kim Krahling and Justin Jezuit also competed in the Chapter Community Service Project competition after much work on an FBLA and DECA community service project in the community of Muskego. Congratulations competitors!
