Drug Collection Among MPD Events Announced for Spring, Summer
Last year's events netted more than 500 pounds of discarded pills and other medications at Muskego Police Department, which announced its spring and summer events, including boaters' safety, 'Safety City,' and National Night Out
Among some of the most popular community events are those with a serious message behind them, sponsored in part by the Muskego Police Department. Grab your calendars and make a note of all of these events designed to bring the community together to be more informed and safe.
DNR Boater Safety - April 9-12 – Learn how to operate a water craft legally and safely, and earn your boater safety certificate. This class is taught by Muskego Police Officers who are certified DNR instructors. To sign up, visit the Muskego Parks and Recreation Department website. Remember, anyone born after 1989 is required to attend a boater safety course to legally operate a boat or water craft in Wisconsin. It’s a pretty good idea for “older” people too.
Prescription Drug Collection - April 27 – Drug Free Communities of Waukesha County, in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Muskego Police Department, will be hosting a prescription drug collection at the Muskego Police Department from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Millions of children across the country start down the path to drug addiction by experimenting with what is in mom and dad’s medicine cabinet, so get rid of that temptation safely. Please no sharps, such as insulin syringes, or mercury thermometers.
