Muskego Flood Watch: Holding Steady as the Rain Keeps Falling
It just keeps on raining and we're hearing that the water's rising, but overall the city has had few if any troubles. Share your stories and photos with us!
As a Flood Watch has been in effect since noon Tuesday and won't be lifted until Friday morning, we've got a long way to go before the sun shines.
Dave Simpson, Public Works Director, told Muskego Patch that so far Muskego is "holding steady," even in some of its more flood prone areas.
"We're seeing some rise in the Tess Corners area, but those creeks are managing the water. Generally we see problems when we have a flash flood situation, which isn't the case. It's a lot of rain we've seen, but it's been over a prolonged period of time," he said.

Simpson said there had been reports of "nuisance flooding" in neighborhoods, but attributed that to oversaturation of the ground coupled with some areas still having frozen ground and unable to absorb the rainfall.Β
According to the Bay Lane Middle School Weather Station, there has already been three inches of rain that's fallen. That number is likely to rise throughout the day before a short break on Friday afternoon through Saturday that will lead into another stretch of rain from Sunday through Wednesday of next week.

In the county, the biggest concern is over the Fox River, which is at flood stage, prompting a flood warning for areas along its banks.
