Muskego Fundraiser Serves Up Pasta With the Proceeds

Odyssey of the Mind teams count on donations to accommodate expenses, and a hungry group helped make that happen on Friday night

(Editor's note: Our thanks to Laurel Walters, who provided the photos and the story on the Odyssey of the Mind Pasta dinner on Jan. 13.)

"Friday, Jan. 13th you were "lucky" if you were at the Pasta Dinner that was sponsored by Leah's Italian Restaurant of Muskego" at Bay Lane Middle School, Walters told us. "It was a delicious meal and a fun event to raise funds for the OM teams that win the State Competition on March 17th in Madison, WI and are invited to the World Competition, which is in Iowa this year."

Tickets purchased got you a pasta dinner that included a choice of spaghetti or mostaciolli, garlic bread & salad. Drinks and desserts were also available along with raffle tickets for prizes from gift baskets, gift cards and even massages.

The event raised $1,800, which will help offset travel and participation costs for the teams. Other fundraisers are also planned later into the season.

"Thanks to May Hyde (coordinator) and all that attended and had a hand in making this event a success. We will get the word out before the event next year so even more can enjoy this evening of food, friends and fun while supporting this worthwhile cause," Walters said.
