Muskego Grads Continue to Recover as Friends Plan Benefit

Chelsea Bullis and Kyle Castellion nearly met the end of their road in June but friends are pulling together to make sure they can share many more miles.

It's been almost three months since Muskego High School 2008 graduates Chelsea Bullis and Kyle Castellion were where they lost control of the motorcycle they were riding and were ejected.

Since then, it's been a long road of recovery for both and friends say it isn't over yet.

"Chelsea is doing really well, and is physically doing fine, but she is still undergoing some rehab for head injuries," said Nick Seliger, a friend of the two. The news is welcome, as Bullis suffered three fractured vertebrae and had been in a coma for a few days after the accident.

Seliger is helping to organize a benefit for the couple at on Saturday, Sept. 29 to cover the extensive medical bills and ongoing treatment. He said Bullis will be there, but is not sure of Castellion, as his injuries were more extensive.

"He is still at Lakeview Rehabilitation in Racine," said . "He suffered a brain injury, and has made progress, but he's angry because he doesn't know why he is there and doesn't remember the accident."

There will be plenty to do and enjoy on the 29th, beginning at 3 p.m. with a 'Muskego Idol' competition; food, raffles, and the Wisconsin Badgers on television at 7 p.m. will follow as well as entertainment by a deejay and karaoke. Live music will cap off the evening beginning at 8 p.m. by T.W. & 4x4.

Seliger said both are extremely lucky to be alive, and have been strong throughout their recovery. Despite losing 60 to 70 pounds, Castellion's physical shape before the accident has helped improve his prognosis.

"The doctors felt that had Kyle not been in the shape he was in, he would have been in much bigger trouble," Seliger said.

Admission to the event is $5. If you are unable to make it, but would like to donate please contact Patch Editor Denise Konkol.
