Muskego Historical Society Set For Ghost Walk

Annual event is a unique seasonal treat that features spooky stories, and an opportunity to enjoy historic buildings, community gathering.

I'm in a funny spot as editor: I get to meet a lot of great people in many amazing organizations, but I'm often so booked that to join any one of them is likely out of the question.

When I can, I'll try to mix business with volunteerism, and such is the case with the Muskego Historical Society, which again offers the Ghost Walk Friday and Saturday October 21 & 22 at the Old Settlement Centre.

Volunteers put together an evening of stories, spooky mazes and an opportunity to enjoy a truly unique setting in the.  Ticket sales for tours begin at 6:30 p.m., and take guests around the grounds that take on a very different feel after the sun goes down.  (Walking around the boardwalk trails the other night, I had a brief Blair Witch flashback, but that's just my imagination...right?)

While not for the very young, the scare factor won't be what other haunted houses set out to do in shock-and-gore tactics.  The Muskego Players will assist in setting the stage for the evening, appearing in the appropriate garb and staying in character to create the perfect mood.

Underlying it all is fundraising for the society, which can always use dollars to maintain its buildings to continue to offer great programs like this.  Ideally, they also want to restore other historic pieces, like the .  The $10 admission is greatly appreciated, as well as greatly needed.
