Robert Kurudza was made a Melvin Jones Fellow on December 12, 2011 at the Muskego Lions Club’s holiday celebration. The Melvin Jones Fellowship is named for the founder of Lions Clubs International and is Lions Clubs International Foundation’s highest award.
Lions International recognizes outstanding individuals who embody humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of 'Lionism.' The recipient of this award becomes a model because of the exemplary service to his club and the community for which it serves, and for Lion Gary Steward, Kurudza is all of that.
"Lion Robb is being recognized for his years of community and humanitarian service," Stewart explained. "Robb has served as President of the Muskego Lions, multiple years as Treasurer and has played a critical role in raising funds for Muskego and Lions charities."

In addition, prior to joining the Muskego Lions, Kurudza was a member of the Prospect Lions (New Berlin) and also served as their President.
Stewart explained that the award is not necessarily given yearly, as length of service in the organization is often a key factor. The Muskego Lions did award Tim Stache with the fellow last year.

The Muskego Lions have been in existence even before Muskego was a city, incepted in 1950. They serve with the Muskego Community Festival, host annual events like the Easter egg hunt and breakfast with Santa, and also fund various scholarships.
