PD: Marijuana Smell Lands Muskego Man Charges While 'Christmas Shopping'
New Berlin Police arrested a 27-year-old Muskego man after discovering pills, marijuana in a vehicle he was in at a park-and-ride lot.

A Muskego man has been charged with possession of amphetimines and drug paraphernalia after a routine patrol of a park-and-ride lot near I-43 by a New Berlin police officer uncovered various substances in the man's car.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Dec. 22, Robert G. Hampton was parked next to another vehicle at the park and ride at 6100 S. Racine Avenue in a "typical position of cars for individuals engaging in some sort of drug transaction," according to the arresting officer. Hampton and the other man in the vehicle spoke to the officer, telling him they were going Christmas shopping.

However the officer reported that he detected the odor of burning marijuana as he spoke to the men, and thought their actions were suspicious. After Hampton gave the officer consent to search him, an empty prescription bottle of oxycodone was found in his pocket with the label ripped off.
When asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle Hampton stated, "There could be eight to ten Percocet pills in the center console." The officer also found two pill grinders there, as well as Adderall pills and a glass marijuana pipe with residue inside of a pair of work gloves.
