Muskego Norway Scorecard Records Successes and Challenges
District reviews are mixed based on report, but keeps district on track with their mission.

Results of high school exam scores from the WKCE tests, as well as numbers on attendance and truancy were reviewed Monday night at the Muskego-Norway School Board meeting, which took place at Muskego High School at 7:30pm.
Numbers were also coded to indicate just how close or exceeding benchmarks, which were based on the Waukesha County district with the highest three-year average, they were.

Met/exceeded benchmarks
- MAP Assessments for reading indicated that 89.2 percent of the students who were measured scored as advanced or proficient (well above the goal of 80)
- ACT Composite scores were 23.9 (met goal)
- English 85.6 percent of students were measured at advanced or proficient
- 0 expulsions were recorded
- 3.9 percent suspensions were recorded, indicating a drop from 4.8 percent in 2008-2009
- 93.2 percent of students indicated post graduation education or military plans
- 100 percent of students indicated post graduation plans, either education or vocational/work
Areas which fell short of benchmarks by more than 7 percentage points

- WKCE special ed test scores revealed reading at 43.6 percent and math at 29.3 percent of those students who were advanced or proficient.
- 91.44 percent of ninth graders recorded grades of C or higher in english; 90.37 recorded grades of C or better in math
Attendance numbers came in at 95 percent (2008-09), and the graduation rate came in at 97.1 (2010-11); each of those numbers were regarded as within 7 percentage points of their benchmarks. The benchmark of 97.3 (Arrowhead HS) was set for attendance, and Muskego own benchmark of 97.7 percent was set for graduation rates.
Unique programs offered at Muskego High School, including 'Second Chance' and math lab, were pointed to by Principal Dr. Dennis Bussen in helping achieve the scores, and to keep the school tied to the district mission of every child learning, growing and succeeding.
Dr. Joe Schroeder, superintendent for MNSD, agreed, saying "These numbers certainly help us to get focused on our mission, but it's the personal stories we hear from the students in these programs that really matters."
