Muskego Parks Recap: 2012 Agreements Set, Woods Road Trail Meeting Set
Lease agreements associated with Park Arthur approved; updates given on truck sale, and Woods Road trail
The Muskego Parks and Recreation Board reviewed many of the contracts involved with its Park Arthur site Monday night at , and updated other projects as well.
- Farm leases: Park Arthur's 'neighbors' have been granted a lease to use part of the land, and as such they have renewed their agreement with the Parks department, which in part delineates the types of crops allowed for the time being on the property. With equestrian and pedestrian trails being planned for the site, the use of those areas will be impacted by crop growth, and the board is hoping to avoid having to reestablish plantings along those trails.
- Agreement with Horn Bros: the board agreed to allow parking by Horn Bros at its site along Pioneer Drive, provided the vehicles do not interfere with park vehicles, and are not parked overnight.
- Park Arthur: closed for the season, and current discussions with sports leagues are in a holding pattern. Developement of all fields is estimated at $220,000, however Director Craig Anderson said teams are largely interested in the biggest field on the site, as it provides lighting and other league-standard features
- Truck sale: the department has sold their 1985 GMC truck for about $1,200; the high bid helps the department unload the vehicle, which Anderson said did not work.
- Woods Road Recreational Trail - Anderson said so far inquiries have been positive, and planning is currently on target. There will be a public information meeting on the project on Jan. 23 from 5 to 6:30pm at City Hall.
