Muskego Police Ask You to Save the Date for Community Events
From spring through summer, MPD is involved in several initiatives and events designed for education, assistance to the community. Check your calendar to see if you are available for any of these opportunities.
The is active in many initiatives in the community, and wanted to remind residents of upcoming opportunities that they are a part of.
April 10 – 13, or June 26 – 29, 5:30-7pm - DNR Boater Safety
If you want to have a fun and safe boating season this year, this course is for you. Boaters age 12 and up should take this important training, offered at the . Cost of the class is $10, and you must attend all classes to receive certification. In addition, prior to your first class, call WDNR at 1-888-936-7463 to get a customer ID # to give to the instructor. Register on the Parks and Recreation website.

April 28 - Drug Collection, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
In cooperation with Drug Free Communities of Waukesha County, MPD will be hosting a drug collection location at the police department. Bring in your old and unused prescription medication for safe disposal.

May 25 - Community Emergency Response Training (CERT)
This is a free course that covers 21 hours of class time to instruct residents on emergency preparedness. Do you know what to do in case of flooding, loss of power, or at the scene of an accident? Training also allows residents the opportunity to be called upon by police in the aftermath of storms, or to assist in searches. Thursday, August 9, National Night Out (NEW DATE) 5-9 p.m.
In order to avoid a conflict with opening night at the Wisconsin State Fair, this event was moved to a later date. Featuring a host of activities for the public to meet various law enforcement units from the city and county, fire department demonstrations, and a lot of hands-on features that teach safety to kids, it's become quite a draw over the years. This is held at Veteran's Memorial Park, at the City Hall complex. Note: given the August timing and the time the sun sets, the vendors generally start packing up around 8:30 or so.
