Muskego Police Explorers Perform at Competition
7th annual challenge puts Muskego's post on top in competition involving 18 departments that competed on May 5.
The Muskego Police Explorers competed against 17 other explorer posts from across the state on Saturday, May 5 at Muskego High School, and scored as first place finishers in overall competition. Posts from nearby Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and West Milwaukee were joined by those from as far away as Brown County and Sheboygan.
While the 7th annual Law Enforcement Explorer Challenge was held at the high school, much of the competition took place in classrooms. However competition in the vehicle contacts event was held on the north side of the school.
"In competing with 125 explorers from 17 other departments, our explorers showed the way, taking first place in 3 events, 2nd in another, and first place overall," said Lt. Dave Constantineau.

Muskego's Explorer post was formed in the spring of 2003, with the Muskego Police Department sponsoring them. The program is a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America and is open to young men and women ages 14 to 20 who have an interest in particular fields such as law enforcement.Â
The intent of law enforcement exploring is to educate and involve youth in police operations, to interest them in law enforcement functions whether they enter police work or not. Through involvement, the explorer program establishes an awareness of the complexities of police service.
