Muskego Police Squad a Casualty of Deer 'Hunting'
Bowhunting and mating season have deer active and in some cases, they're on the offensive, as deer crashes into MPD squad last week.

Lt. Dave Constantineau of the is reminding motorists that while bow hunting for white-tailed deer is in full swing, and gun season is right around the corner, some deer are aiming their sites and going on the offensive.
"This time of year we always see a spike in vehicle crashes involving deer, something one of our officers found out the hard way," Constantineau reported.
An officer was patrolling on Janesville Rd. near Lannon Dr. right in the middle of town around 3:00am, and had a deer run right into the side of the squad, actually sending the car into a spin on the wet pavement, according to Constantineau, who has a dry sense of humor.

"As the squad came to a rest against a street sign, the officer reported that the deer fled in a southerly direction. The officer was certain the deer was laughing as it ran away. We are now actively investigating this Hit and Run accident; this blatant disregard for our officer’s authority; and DNA samples have been sent to the crime lab," he joked, but also wanted to use the event as a warning to other motorists that deer running scared don't regard your vehicle with respect.
"The point is, the deer are out there, and they don’t really care about the rules of the road. They also don’t appear to be content to stay out in the open-field areas either," he said.

He recommended keeping your headlights and windows clean, especially if it's been a while that you've had the car washed or salt builds up, as well as keeping your eyes open.
