Muskego School Scorecard: Mill Valley Posts Good Numbers in 2011

Most recent school year shows benchmarks exceeded or within reach

As the Muskego-Norway School Board convened at Mill Valley Elementary, the school's score card for 2010-11 was presented, and the news was good.

Here's a breakdown of what the numbers came in at:

WKCE scores that fell under 'proficient and advanced' were 95 percent for reading and 93.5 percent for math. These scores were each less than a half a percent from the benchmarks set by the highest scoring district in Waukesha County. Arrowhead's reading scores were 95.38 percent, and Elmbrook's math scores were 95.58 percent.

While indicating a slight drop from 2009-2010's 100 percent performance for special ed reading scores, the 93 percent posted was still far above Kettle Moraine's 75.42 percent.

A similar decline was seen in math scores for special ed students, but the 83.5 still fell within about two points of the benchmark set by Elmbrook (85.87).

Also of note, fifth grade reading scores of C or above inched up to 98.7, within reach of the perfect score goal set by the district. Math scores of C or better did reach the 100 percent mark to match the district's goal.
