The poppy is the flower of remembrance, the history goes, and in 1920 Guerin and other volunteers made thousands of these paper flowers. By 1924, the VFW in America embraced the guesture and trademarked the flower, selling them ever since in remembrance and honor of the fallen.
Please take a moment to shake a hero's hand, thank them and decorate your lapel with a poppy Friday and Saturday, October 28 and 29.
