Muskego Woman Escapes Husband's Attack, Police Say

Two men hearing the woman's cries for help just watched her before she could escape to a neighbor's home, according to a criminal complaint.

A Muskego woman crying out for help was ignored by two men walking past, despite her injuries and pleas for them to call 911 after being beaten by her husband over a broken air conditioner, a criminal complaint states.

The men watched the woman, she told police, as she struggled to get away from her husband and run to her neighbor’s home for help after a two-hour altercation with her husband, a criminal complaint states.

The husband, a 53-year-old Muskego man, was charged with false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery. He faces up to three years and nine months in prison and $20,000 in fines. Muskego Patch is not identifying the man to protect the identity of the victim.

When officers arrived at the home on May 20, they found the woman covered in mud and bruises. The woman was trembling and she had blood coming from a laceration on her arm, according to the criminal complaint.

The man was upset because the air conditioner unit was not working and he blamed his wife for its malfunction, she told police. As the man became more upset, she asked him to remove his guns from the residence, according to the complaint.

The man became angry, grabbed her arms and prevented the woman from leaving, the complaint states.

The man shoved her into a bath tub, ran cold water on her and then pushed her on the bed, saying “I am the king of the world,” the complaint states.

The man grabbed her arms several times and held his hand over her face, making it difficult to breath,e the complaint states. She faked being calm and asked to walk in their garden outside.

After two men walked past and ignored her cries for help, she got away from her husband and ran screaming for help toward her neighbor’s home, according to the complaint.
