Muskego's First Snow Creeps Up On Roads

Motorists take care as slow start to storm means a much different drive in the afternoon and evening

A ride around the city after 2pm on Thursday revealed quickly deteriorating road conditions, as the rate of snowfall kicked it up a notch and stuck to roads that had previously been salted.

Moorland Road appeared to need the most attention, with northbound lanes snow covered and slick and southbound lanes a little better, but still slippery enough that a car needed to be towed.

Visibility was about one-tenth to a quarter of a mile.

Durham Drive, Woods Road: snow covered, very slick

Highway 36: variable, with areas of snow cover and others improving; visibility along this stretch was poor

As the evening goes on, temperatures are expected to fall and winds to increase, creating blowing and drifting conditions. Please remember to keep a safe following distance with other vehicles and turn on your headlights.
