(Editor's note: generally, we preview meeting stories earlier in the day to give readers ample opportunity to review, but an agenda was not available until Monday morning - my apologies for the late notice)

Less than a couple weeks away from the opening of the new Island Ice Cream shop at , and owner Kristin Formolo is ready with a new proposal for potential musical accompaniment.

The Parks and Recreation Board will hear a new idea for putting a regular feature at Idle Isle for jazz and similar music throughout the summer. Formolo had hinted at such an idea when she first came before the board to open an ice cream shop in the pavilion in the park, and now has a more formal offer to present.

From jazz to dogs: the board will also discuss making 'dog-friendly.' Currently, dogs are not allowed in city parks, and only on leash along the recreational trails that fall under the parks jurisdiction. Dog walkers have long wished to be able to exercise their dogs in parks, but unless the city ordinance is amended, may have to wait.

In addition, the agenda for Monday evening's meeting will include news that the Lions Club has canceled their for this year. Normally, the festival, which includes music, bounce houses for the kids and of course food and beverages, would have taken place in the middle of June. No reason for the cancelation was available upon this story's publication, however another item on the agenda indicates the Lion's will be taking part in Special Olympics Muskego Young Athletes Program. Look for a recap of the meeting on Tuesday.
