Paving To Begin Next Week on Muskego Road Project

Final stages of construction on Durham Drive in 2011 will start next week with paving on the 1.7-mile stretch of road.

Residents along Durham Drive and those who have relied on it to shortcut to Highway OO will be happy to know that the stretch of road from McShane Drive to OO (North Cape Road) will undergo a first application of asphalting next week.

This marks the beginning of the end of construction on Durham for 2011, which began on April 25.  Alderman Noah Fiedler, who is the chairman of the Public Works Committee, said Monday night during the committee's meeting that an additional second layer would be applied in 2012.

Paving will start on Monday, October 24 and should take about 10 days to complete.  A recreational trail will also be paved at the same time, and will connect to the fitness trail that runs from Franklin to Big Bend as it crosses Durham, as well as to an existing paved trail that runs north of that trail along Durham and then Moorland Road.
