The retirement of Police Chief Paul Geiszler has prompted a string of promotions within the department, and Thursday a ceremony was held to celebrate.

Family and friends of Muskego Police Department personnel were on hand Thursday at City Hall to witness the ceremonial swearing in of Craig Moser as police chief.

Formerly a captain, Moser was already sworn in as retiring Police Chief Paul Geiszler departed at the end of 2012 so there would be no empty chair in the chief's office. Thursday's ceremony was the public affirmation of the appointment of the 28-year-veteran at MPD.

Along with Moser, Lieutenant Richard Rens was promoted to Captain, and Sergeant James Rozeski was promoted to Lieutenant.
