Road to Jammin, and to End Hunger, Begins in Franklin

'Biking for Hunger' invites cyclists to head west to help raise awareness of hunger in the city, as well as dollars and donations to the Muskego Food Pantry.

Jammin' on Janesville will no doubt draw a nice crowd again, and if you're worried about parking, why not bike it?

In fact, while you're biking, why not join a group that will be gathering at St. Martin of Tours in Franklin to make a statement about the featured nonprofit, ? Rodger Runyan is organizing a 'Biking for Hunger' event that will begin at the church's parking lot in Franklin, 7963 S 116th St., which also is next to the recreation trail.

"We realize with the heat it may be tough for some people to bring food with them, in a backpack or otherwise, but we are also encouraging people to bring a monetary donation, which is a lot easier to carry," Runyan said.

Any cyclists interested in making the 4.7-mile trek to in Muskego should be ready to ride by 4 p.m. The trip is expected to take anywhere from a half hour to an hour, depending on your ability. The reward will be water at Bethel, and Cousins Subs will also be on hand with subs for purchase.
