Parks Recap: Special Olympics Rec Program Will be Featured at Lion's Park
Recapping the Parks board meeting, a new program will be sponsored by the Lion's Club of Muskego for a new program with Special Olympics at Lion's Park.

The Muskego Lion's Club has canceled their annual Lakefest at Idle Isle, but apparently have continued their commitment to serving the city, as they have requested to use Lion's Park throughout the summer for a program with Special Olympics.
A Young Athletes Program will serve kids from age 2 to 7 years of age with our without intellectual disabilities and will be offered from 9:30-11 a.m. beginning July 7 through Sept. 22 (no session on September 1). Park Arthur updates
The sledding hill at has been repaired, according to Director Craig Anderson. Early rains in spring had caused some sloughing of the hill, but Anderson said the hill should be on target to open for winter 2012-13 use.

In addition, archery targets will be placed in the park, with use ready toward the end of summer.
Working with the Muskego Athletic Association along with other baseball clubs, it is also hoped to formulate a plan for lighting of the large baseball field, with the construction of the remaining three scheduled for 2013.
Summer programming
Movies in the Park returns on July 6 at 8:45 p.m. with "The Adventures of Tin Tin" at Veterans Memorial Park. The date and time were designed to coincide with the ending of Jammin' on Janesville.
If you're waiting to sign your kids up for the summer camps offered by Parks and Rec, you're too late. Early registration that featured many newcomers to the program called Get Out and Play has meant that they have already reached capacity.
