Special Olympics to Return to Muskego
A day-long series of events will be held at Muskego High School for a second consecutive year, and you're asked to take part in cheering on the Special Olympics athletes.
Special Olympics Wisconsin Greater Milwaukee Region 8 announced that they will host their hometown games on May 4 at Muskego High School. This is the second consecutive year that Muskego is serving as a "host city" for the event, which draws hundreds of athletes in from throughout the region.
As conducted last year, this is a sporting event including track and field events as well as soccer, and is one of many throughout the state, which has a total of eight regions.
The public is encouraged to come out and attend the events, which kick off with Opening Ceremonies at 8 a.m. and the competition will running from 9 a.m. -5 p.m.Β Β

"Even for the community to just come out and cheer on the athletes like they would a high school event ... means so much to the athletes and really makes them feel like they are included in the community!" said Brittany Neukirchen, a regional director with Special Olympics.
