Summer Event Promises to be as Easy as a Walk in the Parks

Women's Business Connections partners with the parks department to get families out and active to discover all of Muskego's parks.

Along with the coming edition of the Muskego Parks and Recreation Department Activity Guide will be an opportunity to play a little BINGO while you're discovering all of Muskego's parks.

Women's Business Connections (WBC), a newly formed group that is a part of the Muskego Chamber of Commerce, has developed a partnership with the parks department to take "A Walk in the Parks." The seven-week long event will encourage residents to visit all of Muskego's 14 parks as well as Engel Conservation Area and Muskego County Park.

"We found that many people who live in Muskego don't know where many of its parks are, and we thought this would be a great way to introduce families to them by holding weekly events and making a game of it," explained Gail Levin, who is a founding member of the WBC as well as events chairperson.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, WBC is required to hold at least two events, and Levin said, "this is a big one. We plan on holding family-oriented activities each week in one of the parks, just to invite the community out and get families active, together."

The program will be explained on an insert in the activity guide, and will feature a BINGO board with all of the parks' names on it. Fill out the card by using a special daubber placed in each location beginning June 9, and turn it in to the Muskego Chamber offices by 5 p.m., Thursday August 1. The completed card will enter you into a drawing for a $25 gift card to a local restaurant, and eight winners selected at random will be announced at Jammin' on Janesville, and published on Muskego Patch.
