Teamwork Brings Project Closer to Reality

Storage facility 'a great example of collaboration' as Muskego Youth Football League and high school track team work together to raise funds

The Muskego-Norway School Board voted unanimously to approve the building of a storage shed at the northwest corner of the athletic field at the high school. The Track and Field Staff teamed up with the Muskego Muskego Youth Football League to propose and fund a storage building, and will cover the $31,000 costs of construction.

"This project is a project that the Muskego Youth football league has been planning for and fundraising for over the past few years," said Terri Boyer with the league. "We as an organization do not have land, so our Board of Directors had been in talks with Craig Anderson from the City and Scott Kugi from the School District about a finding a community plot of land that our organization could possibly build a shed on.  Both were very interested and willing to work with us, however it happened to be that the track team from the HS was also looking to build a storage shed so economically it was the best for us to go in together and build it together.  Muskego Youth Football will only occupy half of that shed (thus paying for half).  We are grateful and excited to have this opportunity to work with our School District."

Superintendent Dr. Joe Schroeder praised the work of the two organizations as "true teamwork" in planning, designing and presenting the proposal for the structure, which will serve as storage for both teams' equipment, and will feature a restroom in the plans.  The funds were raised over a period of three years through an event with the Special Olympics.  The site was chosen for its proximity to the track surface, and also serves as an ideal spot for the football  program.
