Teen Idol Finalists Named

Singing talent show that become a big attraction on its own at the Community Festival, and the best six singers will perform again on Saturday night.

The judges had a tough job in deciding which of 10 semi-finalists would advance to the finals competition of Muskego's Teen Idol Thursday night.

The group of contestants performed under the family tent on the first night of the Muskego Community Festival at Veteran's Memorial Park. Each sang a song of their own choosing and heard from a panel of three judges before a final decision was made.

The singers who will vie for the crown of Muskego's Teen Idol, and the school they attend, include:

  • Bree Love - Muskego High School
  • Leah Ponzi - Bay Lane Middle School
  • Ashley Patin - Muskego High School
  • Maks Prykhodko - Muskego High School
  • Jessie West - Muskego High School
  • Gabrielle Steidl - St. Paul's Lutheran

The final round of competition will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday.

This is the sixth year for the contest, and to clarify, it is the first year that the Muskego Performing Arts Council (MPAC) has taken on the task of producing it. Previously, the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) had overseen the singing competition, but as the contest has grown in popularity, MPAC has taken on the task. However Steve Krause, director at the Muskego Performing Arts Center at the high school and a member of MPAC, said the assistance of TAB members has been invaluable.
