Tess Corners Walkathon Seeks Sponsors
A $10,000 goal is set for the end of the 1-mile walk on Oct. 12, and Elementary School families are hoping for community support to get there.
It's only one mile from beginning to end, but a fundraising goal of $10,000 makes every step of the Tess Corners Elementary School's walkathon seem a bit uphill.
However, with the Muskego High School marching band as the "leader" and an appearance by two of the Klements racing sausages to help cheer students, parents and teachers on, event organizer Jill Gover is optimistic. Â
"Last year we did not get to $10,000 but we were very close - just a few hundred shy of the goal. So, we're welcoming friends and family of students to accompany us." Â

Each year money is raised for things like assembly programs, school equipment (ie. smart boards, field trip buses and student activities to be used that current year).
This is the 7th annual walkathon for the school, and will take place on October 12th. Walkers will line up at 1:35 p.m. in the lower parking lot and begin walking at 1:45 p.m.Â

If you're interested in contributing with a donation, you may drop it off at the school or mail it to the school at W147 S6800 Durham Drive, Muskego 53150.
"We encourage you to ask family and friends (in and out of state) to sponsor us on our walk with 100 percent of the donations benefiting our school/students," Gover said. "Nothing to pick up, store, or deliver and the donations will be tax deductible."
