Top 3 Delish! Burgers Emerge During Soft Opening

Delish! New American Grill officially opens on Friday, but the new cafe offering high-end beef and unique side dishes was serving food on Wednesday.

In a soft opening on Wednesday, Delish! New American Grill owners and the cooks were already able to point to three most ordered burgers on the menu: Blue Ribbon, Wisconsin and California burgers.

Owner Tracy Horan said all meat used in the burgers is ground fresh and hand pattied, and features a mixture of high-end sirloin and ground chuck.

"Not you're typical fast food, hockey puck type of burger," Horan said. Even the side dish isn't run-of-the-mill, she said: rather than serve the burgers with fries, patrons get "taytees," which is basically a tator tot and hashbrown hybrid.

The restaurant, S75 W17351 Janesville Rd., was open on Wednesday for what Horan called a soft opening, but the grill will be in full swing for its grand opening event on Friday.

  • Wisconsin Burger: Bacon, cheddar and onion strings
  • California Burger: Avocado, tomato, lettuce and swiss
  • Blue Ribbon Burger: Bleu cheese, bacon and tomato
