Uptick in Thefts Inside and Out: Lawn Ornaments Beware

Theft is a common theme in the past two weeks' worth of crime incidences from MPD, whether from store shelves or your own front yard.

Friday, May 25 – A 53 year old Florida woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store.

Saturday, May 26

  • A 62 year old Muskego man was arrested for drunk driving in the W18400 block of Muskego Dam Rd.
  • A 27 year old Waukesha man was arrested for shoplifting at Piggly Wiggly.
  • A 23 year old Pewaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store, as well as for an outstanding warrant through Franklin Municipal Court.

  • Three residents in the W15300 block of Sandalwood Dr. reported the theft of lawn ornaments.
  • A homeowner in the W16000 block of Woods Rd. reported the theft of scrap metal from his yard and guns from the residence. He is unsure when the theft occurred.
  • A tire was slashed on a vehicle parked in the S7400 block of Richdorf Dr.

Tuesday, May 29 – A business in the W18400 block of Saturn Dr. was burglarized.

Thursday, May 31 – Cars in the S7000 block of Cornell Cir. and S7400 Durham Dr. were vandalized with spray paint overnight.

Friday, June 1 -

  • An unlocked vehicle parked at a residence in the W12700 block of Champions Dr. was entered overnight, and several items stolen.
  • Six 17 year olds, one from New Berlin and 5 from West Allis, were cited for trespassing in the area of Mystic Dr. and Harvest Ct.

Saturday, June 2 –

  • Lawn ornaments were stolen from a residence in the S7000 block of Rosewood Dr.
  • A resident in the W12900 block of Harry Vardon Ct. reported someone “ding dong ditching” the residence.


Sunday, June 3 –

  • A resident in the S6300 block of Regency Ct. reported a theft from a shed.
  • A resident in the S10600 block of North Shore Dr. reported the theft of a political sign and damage to the light that had been shining on it.
  • A person visiting a residence in the S10400 block of Jennifer Dr. had several items stolen from their unlocked vehicle overnight.


Tuesday, June 5 –

  • A subject reported the theft of several items, including prescription medication, from his unlocked vehicle.
  • A man who was soliciting businesses in the Muskego Industrial Park was arrested for stealing a cell phone from one of the businesses. He also had several outstanding warrants through Mequon Municipal Court.

Wednesday, June 6 –

  • A 56 year old Milwaukee man was arrested for an outstanding warrant through the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department after an anonymous caller complained that he and his companions were fishing on the channel at Topaz Dr., and were keeping fish that were too small.
  • A hit and run in the parking lot of Muskego Animal Hospital was reported around 4:00pm.

Thursday, June 7 -

  • Two 16 year old Milwaukee boys were cited for trespassing in the W15300 block of Mystic Dr.
  • The theft of lawn ornaments from a residence in the S8800 block of Windover Ct. was reported by the homeowner.
  • A homeowner in the W12700 block of Ryan Rd. received a citation after the fire he started in his yard got out of control and the fire department had to be called out to extinguish it.


Friday, June 8 – A resident in the S10700 block of Muskego Dam Rd. called to complain that her neighbor’s chickens continually go into her yard and eat her grass seed.
