What Were the Top 10 Stories of the Year?
The internet tracks everything, and we'll be counting down the top most-read stories of the year, beginning Saturday. Think of your own list of local events, and see how it compares.

Contrary to popular belief, things DO happen in Muskego, and we've got the stories to prove it!
Muskego Patch will be counting down the top most-read stories of the year, and barring an alien landing in a farm field, figure this list will remain in tact even though it's not quite the end of the year yet. Our internet metrics calculator, PatchTrack, keeps tabs on who's reading what, and while some stories are a given, others were surprisingly absent from that list.
With such a politically charged atmosphere, I'm also removing two stories that were pulling readership from nationwide searches. One such story - with more than 4,400 readers, wasn't even from this year, but because Paul Ryan was nominated as the VP running mate to Mitt Ryan, folks found the story again. There basically were arrests made of protestors at a luncheon in May 2011 where Ryan was speaking, and people looking for any story on him found this one.

The second story was also politically based, asking the question of how Mitt Romney could lose Wisconsin when it had just re-elected Scott Walker in the recall. Locally, it's not generally our readers' cup of tea, so it was also removed.
So, you have about 24 hours to think over which stories really had some traction with readers, be it crime, local events, business - whatever! Make up your own top ten, and compare. Â If you need reminding, search our site using tag words like Muskego Police Department, Business, crime, accident, etc.

It's been an honor to bring Muskego the news and relevant information, and it's only been through a look back that I've realized just how newsy we've been.
