Who's On April's Ballot: Eileen Madden, District 7 Aldermanic Candidate

Eileen Madden is not a newcomer to the Muskego Common Council, but she admits the tenor of the debate she's seen since filling the who resigned from the council in 2012, has been a new experience.

"I don't recall there being such anger in disagreements, and I'm hoping that in the next term we can go back to a council that can disagree and come to an understanding without such tension, but more teamwork," she explained.

Madden served on the council from 2003 to 2007, having been defeated in 2007 by Fiedler. The seat was returned to Madden after the council appointed her from among other candidates, with Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti casting the tie-breaking vote in March 2012.

"I've always enjoyed my time on council, and I feel coming from the 7th District I understand rural living as well as city living, and how they can come together. Every city has a little of both, and I know how to bring them together to bring a good balance," she said.

Madden is running unopposed in April, and said she hoped to see more parks and trails for the next term in the city, although "not necessarily acquired by the city." Overall she said the 7th District is relatively quiet because of its rural nature, but hopes to see more amenities being extended to her district, specifically a recreational trail along North Cape Road.

Her background is in project management, and she has served on the Emerald Park landfill siting committee, as well a position on its standing committee. The landfill is located in District 7, and provides about $1 million in yearly revenue for the city. Those funds have helped to fund parks and trails throughout the city, while also preventing the need to borrow for those projects.

Madden's District 7 seat joins District 2, which features the city's only contested race between Bob Hammel and William "Butch" LeDoux, District 4 (Rob Glazier, unopposed) and District 6 (Kevin Kubacki, unopposed) on the 2013 spring ballot. Elections will be held Tuesday, April 2; polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
