UPDATE: Winter Storm Saturn Loses Its Bite

This has been updated to reflect the downgrade of forecast in certain counties as of March 4, 3 p.m.

According to Patch's media partners at WISN 12 News, the National Weather Service has now issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of southeastern Wisconsin from 6 a.m. Tuesday through midnight Tuesday. Milwaukee, Waukesha, and portions of Dodge County have been taken off of the Winter Storm Warning issued earlier, and Ozaukee County has been dropped altogether.

However, Racine, Kenosha, Jefferson and Dodge County residents remain under the warning, with 4-8 inches forecast.

If this sounds familiar, this is the third storm in as many weeks to barrel through the area during a winter that started off relatively warm and rainy. For those keeping track, this one is called is Winter Storm Saturn.

Earlier reports predicted as much as 6-9 inches of snow over much of the southern third of the state, however the storm's track has moved further south, meaning the inch totals for those counties under the advisory have also taken a dip to 3-5 inches. Very light snow will to fall Monday night, with light to moderate snow developing by Tuesday morning, according to Weather Watch 12.

Saturn was also expected to feature lake-enhanced snow, bringing a higher potential for heavy snow totals along Lake Michigan, but as the storm has changed track, those concerns have also lessened.. 

Brisk northeast winds will develop by Tuesday afternoon however, and will also cause blowing and drifting snow into Tuesday night.
