Likewise, we were touched to learn of a new event to raise money for breast cancer research, disguised as a 'mud run,' but with a poignant tribute to a young woman's mom who died from breast cancer.

A first-ever hosting of a motorcycle ride to remember those who perished in the line of duty was a sight to behold along Moorland Road and Janesville Road.

There were also great things accomplished by our area students, including Girl Scouts who cultivated an award-winning garden at Bay Lane, an eagle scout who held up a family tradition, another eagle scout who improved Old Town Hall, and yet another who enhanced an area at Moorland Park.
