Woman Killed In Milwaukee After Walking Into Traffic After Crash
The woman was struck and killed by a semi on I-41/894 at National Avenue on Friday.
MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI— A woman was struck and killed by a semi after she walked onto a freeway on Friday, according to a news release from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said deputies were dispatched after a report of a car that hit a pole. The car was resting in the grass at the I-41/I-894 National Avenue off ramp.
Witnesses said the female driver "appeared dazed" when she walked into traffic and was hit by a semi. The woman was found unresponsive with injuries to her head and legs. The West Allis Fire Department was called to the area and pronounced the woman dead, the sheriff's office said.

All lanes of the freeway were closed at 9:11 a.m. and reopened at 12 p.m.
"MCSO Criminal Investigative Division is continuing its investigation into factors leading up to the fatality," the sheriff's office said.
