New Berlin Area Road Closures For Pipeline Construction Friday

These roads around New Berlin will face closures as early as Friday and through 2021 for a new water pipe installation.

NEW BERLIN, WI β€” Several road closures in and around New Berlin through the rest of 2021 were announced recently. The detours come as The Great Water Alliance continues work on installing a return-flow water main pipe on Racine Avenue.

The City of New Berlin Department of Community Development announced the closures on Facebook on Monday. The work is to construct miles of water pipeline that will eventually supply Waukesha and New Berlin with Lake Michigan water, according to The Great Water Alliance Website.

Road closures are planned to start Friday. Here's where and when you can expect construction so you can plan ahead:

Oct. 29: S. Racine Avenue from Les Paul Parkway to Lawnsdale Road will be closed for three days.

Nov. 4: W. Coffee Road at S Racine Avenue will be closed to through traffic for two days.

Nov. 9: Woodland Drive at S. Racine Avenue will be closed to through traffic for one day.

Nov. 12: S Racine Avenue from Les Paul Parkway to Lawnsdale Road will be closed for three days.

Dec. 6: S Swartz Drive at S Racine Avenue will be closed to through traffic for two days.
