NEW BERLIN, WI—A grand reopening and ribbon cutting is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at the Biwer Park Playground, 3495 S Sandalwood Drive.

Kristen Hogan, Principal Planner, told Patch the old playground was installed over 20 years ago and was showing signs of aging. There were also numerous issues with maintenance of the equipment and with drainage near the playground. In its place, a new ADA compliant play structure was added featuring inclusive play elements, poured in place surfacing and accessible concrete pathways connecting the site.

New Berlin Mayor Dave Ament and the entire Common Council and the City of New Berlin staff invite all to attend the ceremony. The scope of this project included the replacement of 20+ year old playground equipment with new accessible play components and poured in place rubber surfacing. New ADA compliant pathways now connect the site amenities to make the park accessible to all users, according to a news release.
