2 Rescued After Boat Takes On Water In Lake Michigan Near Oak Creek
The boat was left adrift in Lake Michigan after rescuers took its passengers onboard, the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes said Wednesday.
OAK CREEK, WI — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people when a boat started to take on water in Lake Michigan near Oak Creek, authorities announced Wednesday morning.
The 15-foot pleasure craft was left adrift in Lake Michigan after the rescue because of unsafe conditions, the U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes said in a tweet. Rescuers marked the boat and left it for the owner to later salvage it, the post said.
A medium response boat took both passengers off the boat and handed them off to the South Milwaukee Fire Department Marine Unit, authorities said.
