Astronautics Relocation To Oak Creek Gets Closer To Completion

Astronautics announced in a news release its re-location to Oak Creek is expected to be complete by mid-March.

OAK CREEK, WI — The re-location of Astronautics Corporation of America's Wisconsin production facility from Milwaukee to Oak Creek is expected to be complete by mid-March, the company announced in a news release Tuesday.

Astronautics is moving its production facility to its Oak Creek headquarters, the company said. Astronautics previously told Patch the move was coming in a piecemeal way to keep production going.

The company's new facilities are adjacent to Drexel Town Square. Astronautics said it's the first time production, support, repairs, programs, quality, and engineering will be located on the same campus. The headquarters and facilities measure up to about 190,000 square feet, Astronautics said.

The first phase of the move came in January 2020 when Astronatucs moved its engineering, programs and support into Oak Creek. The company engineers and manufactures avionics and display equipment for the commercial and military aerospace industries.

The game-changer during the move was the fact the Oak Creek warehouse was a blank slate, allowing for them to plan an ideal manufacturing workflow before any construction began, said Jason Rowell, the director of operations for Astronautics, in the news release.

"Our new facility provides us with room to grow our operations with a talented, high-tech workforce motivated to design and build cutting-edge solutions that make flying safer and more secure," said Mary Loomis, the company's director of communications, in the release.
