Coronavirus Update In Oak Creek: 5 Deaths
The county as a whole has seen 2,191 confirmed cases, with a total of 9,622 negative tests.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say the city has seen five deaths due to the coronavirus, and has seen 69 confirmed cases as of April 20.
Health officials said local authorities have tested 352 people in Oak Creek, with 283 negative tests reported.
In Milwaukee County, a total of 132 people have died from COVID-19, the infection brought on by the coronavirus. The county as a whole has seen 2,191 confirmed cases, with a total of 9,622 negative tests.

Governor Evers issued a “Safer at Home” order in effect until May 26.
The order prohibits:

- All non-essential travel and business, with some exceptions as clarified and defined in the order and extension.
- Gatherings of any number of people that are not a part of a single household.
- All playgrounds and basketball courts in Oak Creek will be closed until further notice. Wisconsin has also closed 40 State Parks.
- The CDC and Wisconsin DHS recommend wearing a cloth face cover when you are outside the home conducting essential activities.
The following City facilities are closed to the public until further notice:
- Civic Center, including: City Hall, though people can access City services by contacting (414) 766-7000 when they arrive.
- Oak Creek Public Library (including Recreation Department)
- Municipal Services (DPW) Building Recycling Yard
- Police Station and Municipal Court
- Fire Stations 1, 2 and 3
- Water Utility
- All Playgrounds
- Authorities said that the We Energies Fishing Pier is also currently closed to the public.
