OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek residents can now take an online survey to voice their opinions about different ideas to develop public recreation space alongside Lake Michigan near Lake Vista and Bender Parks, the city announced Monday.

The survey asks for reactions to various parts of a proposal from Edgewater Resources, a coastal and waterfront design company that was engaged by city staff for a study, according to a news release. The study includes 3,500 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline and bluff with Lake Vista and bender Parks to the north and the in-progress Lakeshore Commons mixed-use development to the south.

Parts of the proposal from Edgewater include trails, bridges, slides, play structures and different opportunities to touch the lake.

Other proposals from the study included gardens, a main promenade, a pedestrian bridge, various pathways to access the shoreline, rock scrambles for kids to climb, and sports trails between multi-use paths, according to the survey.

The city said the different reactions to the central elements of Edgewater's proposal will impact the trajectory of the project.
