Fire Kills Cats At Mobile Home In Oak Creek: Fire Dept.
Firefighters were quick to extinguish a fire at a mobile home Monday morning, but several cats perished, the Oak Creek Fire Department said.

OAK CREEK, WI — Nobody was injured when a fire broke out at a mobile home in Oak Creek Monday morning, but several cats inside died, according to the Oak Creek Fire Department.
Firefighters found smoke coming from the mobile home when they arrived around 11:15 and the fire was put out within 10 minutes, according to a news release from the fire department. It happened in the 2500 block of West Carroll Avenue.
Several cats were rescued from the structure and taken to a nearby emergency pet hospital for treatment, the fire department said. Unfortunately, several more cats were found dead inside because of the conditions from the fire, the news release said.

Nobody who lived at the mobile home was injured, the fire department said. No firefighters were injured either.
What exactly caused the fire remains under investigation, authorities said.

Firefighters from Franklin, Greendale and Greenfield assisted during the fire, according to the Oak Creek news release.
