Lakeside Credit Union Announces Merger

Lakeside Credit Union, 150 W. Ryan Road, is now operating as a branch of Educators Credit Union following the completion of a merger April 1.

Officials in a news release called the merger "a good fit for both organizations." The values and mission of Educators closely matched those of Lakeside, and the Oak Creek location allows Educators to serve its Oak Creek and Franklin members, said Robert Walleser, senior vice president of branch operations at Educators. 

"Educators members have been asking for a branch in that area for a while," Walleser said. "We are happy to welcome the member-owners of Lakeside to the Educators Credit Union family."

Added Oak Creek branch manager Wendy Heberling: "We knew Educators would be a good fit for our members and our staff. The resources and benefits they provide for their members and staff made pursuing the merger a good decision for everyone."

Lakeside Credit Union had 1,665 accounts and assets of $8.8 million, according to the news release.
