Interstate 94 was briefly closed Tuesday evening in Oak Creek near Drexel Avenue when a semi-truck caught fire, the sheriff's office said.

OAK CREEK, WI — Interstate 94 southbound was briefly closed Tuesday evening when a semi-truck became fully engulfed in flames near the Ryan Road off-ramp, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
A full closure was necessary at first because of heavy smoke from the fire. Firefighters from Oak Creek extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes, the sheriff's office said in an update to Twitter. Nobody was injured in the fire, according to the sheriff's office.
Several lanes were reopened on the highway but the ramp and other lanes remained closed for about two hours as authorities towed the trailer and disposed of its contents, the sheriff's office said.
