Russian Vodka Being Discontinued, Oak Creek Woodman's Store Says

OAK CREEK, WI — Woodman's supermarket in Oak Creek has joined the ranks of retailers across the country pulling Russian products from the shelves.

The Oak Creek location announced it is "discontinuing Russian Vodka" on Tuesday through its Facebook page. Workers at the store told Patch over the phone the remaining stock is being sold at 50 percent off in crates near the front of the store.

Included in the Oak Creek store's Facebook post was the hashtag "#WeStandWithUkraine."

Woodman's locations in Waukesha and Menomonee Falls have also announced they are pulling Russian vodka from shelves.

The move comes after various retailers around the country have made similar decisions. Total Wine and More, which has locations in the Milwaukee area, announced it is pulling Russian products from stores nationwide after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

About 1.2 percent of vodka imported into the U.S. is from Russia, data from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States show.

Patch reached out to Woodman's corporate for comment. This story will be updated when we hear back.
