Oak Creek First Responders Save Choking Man's Life: Cops

Authorities said the man was gasping for air, and then fell silent on the 911 call.

OAK CREEK, WI — Authorities in Oak Creek say they rescued a man who was choking earlier this week, arriving just in time to revive him after he lost consciousness after he called 911 and suddenly stopped talking.

According to Oak Creek police call logs, a person who lives at The Courts apartment complex called 911 just before 4 a.m. on July 3 saying that he was choking.

The man said that he was gasping for air, and then fell silent on the phone call, authorities said.

Police call logs stated that first responders arrived within minutes of the emergency call, and found the door to his apartment locked.

Police said Oak Creek Fire Department paramedics were able to revive the man and rushed him to Ascension hospital in Franklin where he was treated.
