Stand Up and Move More is a researched and proven program designed to help adults over 55 years old spend less time sitting, the city said.

Join the Health Department’s Stand Up and Move More Workshop

How much is too much time sitting during the day? On average, older adults spend more than 60% of their waking hours in sedentary activities—mostly sitting. Research shows that too much sitting is bad for your health. Stand Up and Move More is a researched and proven program designed to help adults over 55 years old spend less time sitting and more time standing throughout the day. While it is not an exercise program, it improves your physical health by reducing the amount of time you sit each day.

This workshop meets weekly for four weeks on Thursdays from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., beginning on April 20, 2023, at the Oak Creek Civic Center. There is one refresher session on June 8, 2023. The cost of the workshop is $10. Participants must register ahead of time.
