Police Ask Public To Avoid Area In Oak Creek Amid 'Contained' Threat

Police said an area near 13th Street and West College Avenue in Oak Creek was evacuated Friday amid an isolated threat situation.

UPDATE: Police said around 7 p.m. via Facebook that the area around College Avenue and 13th Street in Oak Creek is open again.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek on Friday afternoon asked people to avoid the area near 13th Street and West College Avenue amid a threat situation that authorities said has been contained.

Police evacuated anyone who was in possible danger within a building and nearby, according to a statement posted to Facebook about 3:30 p.m. by Oak Creek police. Police asked people to consider alternate routes amid the situation.
