Riverside Family Restaurant Now Open In Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, WI — After months of searching for employees, Riverside Family Restaurant is now open in Oak Creek on Ryan Road. It presents a menu similar to its counterpart in Iowa.

The spot opened Monday and is currently running at reduced hours, but owners hope to increase the diner's hours after it finds a footing in Oak Creek, a manager told Patch.

The new eatery moves into a space formerly occupied by Perkin's. The property was purchased by Destan Aliu in July, Milwaukee BizTimes reported. It's located at 2021 W. Ryan Road in Oak Creek and is open daily 6 a.m.-3 p.m.

Sandra Lopez is a manager for the small chain's Oskaloosa, Iowa location. Since the small restaurant brand bought the property in Oak Creek earlier this year, Lopez has been searching for employees to run it. Positions across the board remain open for applications, she said.

"We're gonna be short [staffed], but we're really excited to be there," Lopez said.

The location is still hiring servers, dishwashers, bussers and cooks.

According to Lopez, the menu is much the same as the menu in Iowa. Fried chicken, pancakes, omelets, biscuits and gravy, waffles, burgers and sandwiches can all be found on the menu for the location in Oskaloosa.
