Stovetop Fire At Oak Creek Apartment Put Out Before Fire Dept. Arrives
Nobody was hurt in a fire that started on a stove and extended to cabinets inside an Oak Creek apartment Saturday, authorities said.
OAK CREEK, WI — A fire that started on a stove in an Oak Creek apartment building Saturday morning extended to nearby cabinets but was extinguished before authorities arrived, according to a news release.
Firefighters were called to the 8800 block of Woodcreek Drive just before 10 a.m. but did not see any fire or smoke outside the building, a news release from the Oak Creek Fire Department said.
Authorities made their way inside the apartment and found where the fire had started, the news release said. The resident had pulled an alarm after the fire started to alert other people in the building.

Nobody was injured in the incident, the fire department said. The building had working fire alarms and authorities reminded people to ensure they have alarms on all levels of their homes.
